Overall renewal of the A6 junction in Thun North, Switzerland
The 9.3-kilometre-long stretch of the A6 motorway between Kiesen and Thun South, including the Thun North motorway junction, had to be completely renovated. In the course of the overall renewal, the existing carriageway made of concrete with a bituminous surface was removed and replaced with a new bituminous road structure. The motorway drainage system was also modernised and the existing oil detention basins were renovated to meet today’s environmental requirements. The overall renewal was carried out without road closures.
